The event was attended by representatives of all universities of the republic, the Udmurt Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, republican executive bodies, manufacturing enterprises, engineering and IT companies, and the banking sector.
Scientific and technological development is one of the most important sections of the Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of Udmurtia until 2035, and in modern conditions, only this area can give a new impetus to the economy.
The Minister of Economy of Udmurtia, Anna Slugina, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. The Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences of Udmurtia State University, Aleksei Kashin, made a report on the transformation of the sectoral structure of the economy of Udmurtia. Particular attention was paid to the industries that ensure scientific and technological development, their problems and mechanisms for ensuring growth. Deputy Director of the Udmurt Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, A. I. Korshunov, spoke about fundamental scientific schools and areas that have the greatest potential for transfer to the real sector of the economy. Representatives of the Kupol Institute of Economics and Management and NPO Delta highlighted the problem of providing a mechanism for the technological development of large industrial enterprises, as well as small and medium-sized businesses.
Vice-rectors for science at universities in the Udmurt Republic presented about scientific schools of their HEIs. UdSU Vice-Rector for Research and Strategic Development Programs Aleksandr Makarov spoke on behalf of our university: the university's scientific schools not only conduct fundamental research, but also implement large-scale projects in industry, the socio-cultural and environmental spheres.
One of the key problems identified during the round table is that, despite the enormous potential of enterprises in the real sector of the economy, higher education institutions and academic institutes in the republic, connections between individual participants are not well established. Coordination of activities, development of a mechanism for transferring scientific discoveries and solutions into production are some of the most important tasks for the development of the region in the next decade.
